Hi guys - I KNOW many don't like/support/want to think about hunting but this isa "special" cause.

I posted not long ago about my coworker who has a brain tumor.

At work we've been collecting donated money and food for Jim and his family. I've been buying food through the Angel Food Ministries (http://www.angelfoodministries.com/)program for them as well.

We should be having a benefit dance before long. He's scheduled to have his surgery next week. His tumor is not responding to the radiation therapy - not shrinking as we had all hoped.

Anyhow, two guys are hosting a "Big Buck" contest at work. The prize is small - winner receives a case of beer, or two cases of soda (winners choice). Each photo entrance costs $5.

I'm not asking for money, but I am asking for picture submissions. I don't have hunters in my family. You dont have to post the pictures here, but can email them to me ([email protected]) or send to me via PM.

By Monday I can provide more information about Jim and can even provide the phone numbers for the two men working on the newest fundraiser going on but like I said I'm not asking for your money, just your pictures.

If anyone here contributes and happens to win I'll put togther a bunny gift basket for you that I can send out in thanks.

The other thing we're doing at work is donating overtime pay to his family - I don't know how much I'll be on next week - I drew the "unlucky pot", so I'm working 58 hours and will be deciding Sunday night what percentage over my 40 hours I'll be donating to his family. It's all good since it's going to a very needy cause. Us working the overtime helps cover his shifts since we're short staffed on a rotating basis so it was bound to land in my lap sooner or later!

I'm so sorry about your friend! I hadn't heard about it till now.

Out of curoisity how do the pics help? Do you have to send in money to with the pictures?

I'll gladly pay the submission fees.

They're asking $5 per picture submitted. 100% of each $5 goes to Jim and his family. The "grand prize" isn't much for the "biggest buck" winner - just a case of beer or two cases of soda.. but the the true spirit is in raising the money for the family.

The pictures, well -hopefully many will participate (orwill want in) as we'll have a huge bulliten board displaying the submissions.

In this fundraising contest they aren't wanting to take donations unless you submit pictures, in order to offer future fundraisers (that will have participants that won't tire of constantly doleing out money)that will appeal to others who may not contribute to this one.

I don't know what else we'll be doing yet. I do know we're working on a benefit dance. Those usually help out a whole bunch.

This is the thread I posted about Jim:
