There are days in your life you will never forget.....

Special birthdays, wedding days, graduations........ and then some sad days.

It's been 29 years. There was cool and then there was Really COOL and Joe was the latter.

I miss my uncle. He was only 34. He had been in Vietnam and in bad sprays of Agent Orange. It affected his heart and he died when the wall around his heart just basically exploded.

I remember riding in his new convertible. I remember when I was only 8 or 9 and he carried me to the ER when I broke my ankle. I remember playing cards with him on our last Christmas together.

Take time to really look around and remember good times... and important times.

Aww what a tribute you got there.

I got quite a few. Many really.

Firstly I want to bring up one thing I had for my sister. In 1993 I had jaw surgery done, also had braces dealing with that for 8 yrs. My sisters wedding was on August 7th that year.

Her hope was to see me without braces but we all were told that I may still have it then. Ok, On August 6th I had a dentist apt before my sisters rehersal pratice and dinner was due. The dentist surprized me and my mom that they were removing it. yeah I was so happy, I told my mom don't say nothing to Christie or Stive (her hub), she said why, I told her that is my wedding gift to her. I was only 16 did not really have money either.

so I was at pratice, no one noticed me without braces yet. I was having fun with that. Then we all arrived at the fire hall for the dinner where the wedding dinner was going to be next day since we had to decorate. Me and my sister go out of the car, she was talking away to me did not see me smiling so big. She turned around to walk in the building, then she stopped and looked at me. YOU LITTLE BRAT, WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT YOU GOT YOUR BRACES REMOVED AT CHURCH. I was laughing so hard and told her that is my wedding gift to you. She was so happy that she cried. It was one of the best things I had with her.

Also when she had her children Samantha 13 yrs ago and justin 10 yrs ago. Oh how I wish she is still here, it hurts knowing that she is in heaven. I miss her so much. I had great memories with her.

I got alot more but I want to read others first.

It's always hard - but we must always remember the good things, the things that warm our hearts when we remember. This will be year number six since mom passed away.

You are right Bo - we must remember to remember these things, and enjoy who and what we have right now.

Thinking on it more - I realize that one of the reasons I think I was SO fond of him was that he LOVED animals! He was my uncle by marriage (to my mom's sister) but I always remember him being my uncle so it didn't matter how.

He would romp on the floor with the dogs and they all adored him!

He had a pet pig in vietnam while he was there.

He was like me or I am like him - can't be without a pet. I go crazy!

If you know who the actor Sam Elliott is - That's my uncle. The voice, the drawl, the quiet personality and believe it or not.... the looks.

It's freaky to see him older now cause I know that's what my uncle would be looking like!

ARe you saying that your uncle Sam Elliott is like your uncle if he was alive. or is that really your uncle?

Sorry. My uncle looked just like him and would be close to his age.

Sam Elliott in MASK - that would be how my uncle looked when he died. Not with the leather biker stuff, but a hot rod car and the coolness.

Yep, I know Sam is still alive. he's in that new National Treasure isn't he? He was also in Ghost Rider and a zillion others.

He's a favorite of mine - wonder why ? LOL!

My son also has a really deep voice like my uncle did (no blood relation tho) and like Sam Elliott.
