I know the adverts are really sad, you wish you could do more to help but, the thing that I like to think is that, even though a lot of us right now are low on funds, we would still do our best to try and give a little something to those charities. Yet, there is people out there who have tons of money and hardly give anything! At least we know who the better people are!

I actually would rather not donate money, but donate goods instead. Not to be rude but I don't know exactly where my money is going to and i'd rather not but someone new shoes because an animal pee'd on them , you knwo what I mean ?

The OSPCA has a list on their website of thigns they use, so if you wanted to donate, yeah.

I understand what your saying and it's a very good point! I do worry where the money goes sometimes especially with the bigger aids such as live 8, comic relief and children in need, they get millions but, where does it all go?

Yeah, exactly. Also, i'm sure they spend hundreds, even thousands on commercials which I'd rather not fund

Can't comment on the SPCA, but in the shelters I've worked at, we definitely did not pay for peed on shoes. That's the worker's own problem. Most of the money went towards vets and food.

That said... it's always better to donate to your local rescues as opposed to the one big SPCA, which isn't affiliated with local humane societies. There's been some scandals about them using the money... well, not to help the animals. They're mostly an ad campaign.

But you'd think with a big enough city we'd have more but we have the occasional rescue but they dont have a main place, as in all their animals are in fosters so.. and what they need the most is someone with a car.. which.. not yet

I just started to donate some time to a local shelter. This is a "no" kill shelter. They needed volunteers tospend time withthe rabbits. I found some toys to give them. My rabbitsdon't play with them.

I can be a bit leery donating money to anything unless I am somewhat inovled with it, because you just never know where it'll end up. So I too donate my time once a week to volunteer at the shelter and donate vegetables for the bunnies. At least then I know 100% of my efforts are going straight towards helping the rabbits!
