Acquaintance of mine, in law enforcement, hasasked me about rabbits' olfactory ability and wondered if theirabilitieswould enable the government to search fordrugs and explosives with less expense and effort than it currentlytakes using canines.

I replied that I really didn't not know, but he asked if he could joinus at the Beach Bunny Party next monthto get some anecdotalevidence and background from those that attend, which might support orreject his investigation. I told him that I thought most anyof us would probably be happy to provide any information thatmight be of use toward those ends.

Can you imagine that? FBI bunnies, someday, maybe! How cool would that be?

WOW! It makes good sense, Buck!

Rabbits are intelligent enough to train, and that nose is always going.

What a fascinating turn of events!!

Watch out folks, this could be the beginning of The Bomber Bunnies!

I don't know, it's a cool idea, but I can'timagine seeing Mocha or Spice doing that. I mean, if there's foodaround, they could care less about everything else! I can't even manageto train them to come on command!

Okay, seriously, it's a very neat idea.

***bump***

I was just looking through some old posts and found this one.

Can you imagine Grissom pulling a rabbit out of his kit to check for trace evidence?!?!

Hey Jim, i am taking my first (of many) police tests in a few weeks! Now this is too weird!

ps- i'd have my Rue as police bunny partner, she's alsways got my back!

Well...if you could train them to associate thesmell of drugs with the reward of let's say- a craisin then you'd haveit made. :p

I miss Buck. :(

There just aren't posts like his to be found anywhere else.

I read them and I smile and laugh. Itfeels so good. For just a brief moment he's with us again, in the midstof it all, throwing his big words and gentlemanly wit around.

Thanks Jim. ;)

You're not alone, Honey.

No one can fill his shoes.

If you listen closely and pay attention to the signs he sends to you, he'll answer your call.

Remember, Dear Heart, he "didn't die".

For those that wonder what was up with this post, it did have a messageto get through to some that were 'playing' on the board. The title isfrom the theme song to The Pink Panther.

AW! Everyone's Uncle Buck. His posts always make me smile :D

Even though I never had the pleasure to meet, I miss his pressence on the board. :(

It is as if he is still here with us, when I see one of his threads bumped.

Going through all his posts, these lasts weeks, brings a tear to my eye.

But I know in my heart, he is watching all our buns, past and present.

Buck is very much alive and with us. Ican't tell you how I know.Just trust me.He never really left.

I couldn't agree more Carolyn. It's funny that whenever it's cleaningout time, feeding time, play time, etc, I always think about him. Itsas though hes looking down on us. Its really quite lovely to know, hesnot that far away.
