What type of offsprings would you get crossing them with Jersey Woolies or Mini-rex?

What are the chances of getting double mane from mating 2 single manes?
When you mate two single manes - you have a 25% chance of getting double manes, a 50% chance of getting single manes and a 25% chance of getting no manes.

Crossing lionheads with the other breeders only gives you mixed breed rabbits (there is no "lionhead/rex or lionhead/woolie" breed officially). Then again - there also isn't a "lionlop" officially either.

Breeding in those other rabbits basically messes up the wool/fur genes in the lionheads.

Here's a great article about lionhead mane genetics:

I was interested improving the mane with woolie and, with a rex prehaps getting a mini-rex with a mane.

A woolie won't improve the mane because the mane is actually carried on a different gene.

A woolie will only change the fur to be woolier.

In order to improve the mane - you need to bring in rabbits that have a good mane even as adults. One of the best ways to know if you have this is to check for if the fur is "crimped" in the mane area - like if you used a crimper on a person's hair. If it is - then odds are good that the mane will stay....

One ofmy 5mini-rexhas really soft velvety fur. Is there a chance of getting that fur as well as a mane?
I have yet to see a rex/lionhead cross that has kept the mane (I had two of them and I've known others who have had them also).

If you did get one like that - I would like to point out that it would not be showable (I don't know how much that matters to you). The fur would be the wrong type and the rabbit would be disqualified.
