I have both. I know for sure that Ihave a pure Holland, 3 pure Mini Rex and a pure FlemishGiant. I also know that I have a Mini Rex x Himi (my bestguess) cross. I'm honestly not sure about my Californian ormy 2 Mini Lops. They display the traits of these particularbreeds, but are not pedigree.

They all make wonderful pets. I think that if you just want apet, adoption/rescuing is a great option. Sometimes these arepure breds, sometimes mixes. Obviously if you want to breedor show, you need a pure bred.

All of mine are purebred - mainly because thereare no places around to adopt bunnies - so I've gone to breeders that Ifelt were respected.

I think that any bunny can be good - it depends upon their tempermentand their handling, etc. (I think a good bunny that ismishandled can become ill-tempered and a problem bunny can becomebetter natured with the right handling).

I also believe that there are some buns that just aren't aspeople-friendly - but I don't think that means they are "bad" buns...

Well said! I have a couple who just ignore mecompletely. They only pay me attention when I'm feeding themor if I pick them up. I still love them to death, they aren'tbad, just not really into people.

I havehmm lets see , Mutts , which Ilove dearly , and I alsohave pure breed Dutch , ( noears no papers ) . NOBig I love them all equally andthey equally all makewonderfull pets .

I have 1 cross lop and 2 purebred mini-rexes...I don't think it matters about pedigree but I do have to say that mycross lop is a lot nicer than either of my other babies.

I have what I believe is a purebred Mini Rex, though with pet store bunnies I guess you never can tell...

And I have a lop that is definately a mix of breeds, though I don't know what.

Whether or not a rabbit is purebred has absolutely no effect on my choice for a pet.

Amy,

Your avatar, what type of bunny is that? I keep studying all the pics Isee and she/he closest resembles my Don Cheeto, except my bun is allblack.

I heavily suspect he's a mutt, especially because of his even keeleddisposition. (He let's my 2 year son chase him, but then will lick himas he sleeps - my littl' lover bun!)

I dont think if its a cross breed or a pure bredis the issue.I believe temperment is hereditary i wouldnt buy a dogwithout seeing the parents.bluebird
