Has anyone here ever watched a live cam of something off EarthCam? I have been watching the one at www.extremebirdfeeding.com and the one at http://bruce1956.proboards86.com/index.cgi

They are just live cams set up to watch wildlife. I have been watching the deer and raccoons on the extreme bird feeding one for two hours. Yeah, I think my "insomnia" is coming back. Bleh.

Insomnia.... you posted at 12:30 in the morning....:?. Maybe you should have thatguy of yours read a bed-time story to you, or something... :D

Thanks for the links to the critter-cams. I am only able to access the bird feeding one from the work computer. I'll have to try it when I first come in because I don't think there will be too many birds feeding in the dark. I did see some deer though!!! :D

WELL, Will was in bed next to me sleeping (and snoring, oh so daintily). So I popped some Tylenol PM, forgot that I took them, and stayed up for another 4 hours (I took them at 10 :p). I went to bed around 2-ish. Yeah...

I think it's more interesting to watch at night. There are a lot of deer that visit the Extreme Bird Feeding (EBF) one. I was watching a flying squirrel be cute and stuff its face, too. There were raccoons earlier. They buggered off, though. These are just what I saw tonight! There are three deer there right now :p

That was sweet of you!

I wish I could find a BAT cam. I love batties!
They have one :p It updates every 15 seconds, so it's not as "up to date" as the yard ones :p

This is a specific, stream batcam: (blurry due to spiderweb)

Here is a video from a live cam in Germany (I think). The site is all in German :p

Why thank you! :) I need things to occupy my time :D

If anyone is interested, there are a bunch of deer on the EBF one. There are some silly does eating off of a table (that is their height) and a nice sized buck :p

Thank you!

and if you need things to keep you busy - I have a house that needs a good cleaning! LOL!

Ha! I have a whole apartment that needs cleaning! :D I just tend to hide away in my "unemployed cave" AKA "the bedroom" with my laptop and watch birds and squirrels terrorize each other lol

Will thinks I am nuts for obsessively watching the critter cams. Right now, I am watching the EBF one and there was a female pileated woodpecker nomming down the suet. There are a bumload of goldfinches there, too :p Ooo! Chickadees and nuthatches! I <3 them :) I was super-excited that there was a flying squirrel there last night ^_^ I call the cams my new soap operas (we don't get any form of TV in our house. We're too cheap for cable and our apartment is built like a lead brick that cell phone signals, GPS navigators, and "bunny-ear" antennae can not penetrate. :p

Here are some pictures, just for you, then :p I love bats, too. Bats are one of my favorite exhibits at the Milwaukee County Zoo. Right now, they have Ruwenzori long-haired fruit bats, straw-colored fruit bats, and common vampire bats. I like the vampire bats because they hop around on the enclosure floor. :p Hopping batties are adorable!

I also checked, they still have springhaas. :D

Back to the pictures! (These are some of my personal favorites for cuteness!)

Honduran (White) Tent Batties!

They look like little cotton balls!

Little Brown Batty!

Bumblebee Batty! (Smallest species by length :D)

THey are also known as the "Kitty's Hognosed Bat". These little fuzzies are only 1.14-1.30 inches (29-33 millimeters) long! They only weigh 0.07 ounces (2 grams)! Eek! Tiny cuteness!

EDIT: It's really early, I can't sleep. There you have it :p

I don't anyone else who loves bats! I would LOVE to have one (I know that's like not good thinking lol) because they are so awesome. We have little brown bats that fly around here at dusk. Most people run inside if they start getting too close..... I go OUT to see them LOL!

Those pictures are so cool! I don't think I've ever seen those little white ones before!

My favorite are the big fruit bats! I think they are so COOL!

Where I go camping (Devil's Lake State Park) in Wisconsin, there is a colony of bats inside the chateau's attic. They exit through a gap in the roof. If you know right when to go and when to stand, the whole colony will fly out over you :p It's cool. You can get within 5 feet of them. They like to zoom near you, too (you kick up bugs as you walk). I've gotten pretty close to them :D
