So... just a few days ago I told my friend she was dumb for wanting Netherlands. They are lovely to look at but they are so tiny, frail and active. July 1st I went to my friend Sharon's house, she owns Doty Creek Bunny Farm, in search of some Holland Lop does. She had one doe I was eyeing but after seeing her in person I decided she was not for me and insted got a doe with a body that goes for miles, rock solid and as wide as the Ohio River. Beautiful doe, black VM (white spots and lots of white hairs). I could not bring herhome due to a recent litter but I will be picking her up in 3 weeks, at which time I shall be picking through the baby Hollands Sharon has for sale.

Babble Babble, anyway, I had been watching the Netherlands she had been selling on her site and decided to get them out and have a peek. First up, a little agouti VM junior buck named Keebler. Tiny guy, just a smit bigger than his sire. Posed him up and decided I had to have him. Well, I could not get a buck and not a doe. She had one Netherland doe for sale, a bigBEW girl named Wynona. Sharon made the mistake of buying herat picture look only at4 weeks old from a breeder in Texas. Come ARBA nationals last year,MANY months later, Sharon met the breeder to pick her and a buck up. She was totally scewed over, they did not tell her neither of them carried the dwarf gene and are as she put it "monsters". So after a few litters she decided to sell her, that is where I come in.

I love them both, Keebler is very scared but I met him at Sharon's rabbitry and he was very nice and outgoing so I know it is just stress of the move. Wynona must be very stressed, too, because Sharon said she goes crazy when you try to get her out but for me she just kinda freezes up. Everyone likes Keebler is cute and Wynona is "Oh my god, she is so beautiful! Her eyes!", hehe.

Tiny Keebler, he was so hard to pose, it was only after I gave up that he died to do the side pose.

Wynona, again, did not want to pose. This is from yesterday so they are still settling in. Yes, Wynona is a false dwarf. I do not plan to keep any of the false dwarf babies that may be born. Up side is no peanuts and Sharon said she had 5 babies the last time.

Holy smokes, that's aBIG doe!!!

Congratulations on your new additions, hopefully that adorable little guy will help correct the size on the babies... He's adorable! Good luck with them.

Hehe, yeah, Keebler can fit in one hand and poor Wynona needs three hands :p But people use "BUDs" all the time, I never call them that because they are not ugly, and she has good genetics hiding. I do not remember if Sharon kept a baby from her or not....

One of my best Netherland does is a BUD doe... She was nice in her younger days, even sports a BOV leg... But once she started breeding, she started to elongate, much like a Dachsund, LOL! She is a GREAT mom, gives me GORGEOUS babies, big litters (7 in the last)and she is one of my favorites! BUD's rock! :D

They are lovely :) I also have a few BUDs always seem to do so well as mama's too. Its also the best thing if you have a small buck as (over here anway) they may be small and perfectly formed but they never seem to do so well on the table as the more developed bucks.

people can never resist a nethie :p they grow on you and are never as frail as they look!!! lol

I might be getting a blue otter dwarf! lol. i have wanted a blue otter for so long it's not funny, maybe if you get something cute from yoru pair, i'll drive down to get one from you! i love that BEW, despite being big she's purdy. I take care of a bigger REW dwarf doe that we want to cross to a blue.

Actually, umm... what is your name Blaze_Amita? Anyway, actually, my good friend in Ontario will be making a trip down here later this year, hopefully. If not her boyfriend is coming down to Ohio later for Lionheads for her and he will be coming by here. They drive right through New York, don't ask me what part xD, and I bet they could meet you if you... you know *wink*

Heather, but I'll be willing to bet I'm on the wrong end of NY for them. I'm an hour north of albany . . . but if they are goign through the area and have a nice little blue otter, showable or not, i would love to get a showable pair of dwarfs but if it's not showable so what. . . . hmm that would be nice if they came this way. . . . Saratoga, Lake George and Glens Falls are all off the Interstate 87. hehehe, do they have a website I could look at?

And you're in Kentucky! THat's where I'm heading in September to live. hmmm maybe, just maybe. Ah I must stop dreaming at times

i'll get my blue otter up here in NY, but get oen of your babies to go with him/her so i have a pair of dwarfs. :D hehehe so long away to start daydreaming of what your babies will look like
