Some of you might remember a little over a year ago when i found Crabtree in a box after he had been abandoned by the side of the road. He was no bigger than the size of my palm and i had to feed him with a syringe full of formula for months. He was the cutest thing

I felt bad for him when i would leave him throughout the day by himself so i thought having a friend would help. So i went online and found a foundation that helps rescue bunnies being sold illegally in Los Angeles. Through this group he met Evelyn.

They hit it off almost instantly so i took her home with me that night and it's been great. They cuddle together all the time and share pieces of lettuce and groom each other constantly.

Just thought I would share my new bunny with you all. If any of you are curious and even have a dollar to spare here is the website to the foundation that i adopted Evelyn from

Bunny World Foundation

It is a no kill animal shelter located in Los Angeles that saves illegal baby bunnies being sold in the Fashion District of Los Angeles. The founder of the foundation goes down to the area almost daily to buy these bunnies off the dealers hands and raises them to try and find healthy and happy homes like Evelyn has found. These bunnies are sold on the street sometimes at only 3-4 weeks of age and many of them die because of naive owners think that giving them a carrot and they will be fine when they actually need formula.

I remember finding Crabtree and thinking all he needed was lettuce and carrots but he wouldnt eat those. When i finally thought about a milk formula i went to Petco and picked some up. As soon as I put that syringe near his mouth he started gobbling it up and i started bubbling in tears because it was so cute and emotional.

Please try and donate as any little dollar amount will help.

Happy Holidays

Great pictures and stories. I thought animal control was supposed to crack down on the selling of bunnies in the fashion district. Remember reading an article about it a couple of years ago. I often wonder about some people and if their parents had any children that lived.

adorable - what a hoppy ending! tho' i shall never be able to look at that company's products ever again with out thinking of your bunnies!!! - that last pic!:D

Animal control tries to do their best down there but since the people are out there everyday and the carts that they carry animals in are so mobile that if the people see authorities coming they are often able to scurry away and get lost in the crowd. Its hard for me to think that my Crabtree used to be one of those rabbits.

The Bunny World Foundation that i linked on my post above is pretty helpful with trying to save alot of the bunnies that are sold in the fashion district. When I adopted Evelyn from them she was something like the 400th rabbit they have found a home for so they seem to be pretty successful in finding homes for them.
