So we are preparing our rabbits for the county fair and we have some questions!

My rabbit, Fuzzy, is going bald on both ears! Why and how can I fix it?

Fuzzy also has bad teeth, they didn't wear down properly and he chewed on the wire! What can I do to try to correct it? Someone told me about a rock er something I could use, but I don't know what it was....

And lastly, a bathing question:

So you use peroxide to clean hutch stain, but how do we bath their private area? They get really dirty there, like most animals do, so we were wondering what to do...

Thanks for helping guys!

The hair loss could be mites. There are treatments that can get rid of the mites and the fur will grow back. It is best to go to a rabbit savvy vet to test for mites and get a suitable treatment. Mites aren't really something that can be taken care of overnight, but it is fairly quick and only needs a few treatments to get rid of them.
Other causes could be over grooming, this would be harder to fix as he would probably be doing it to himself.

I am not sure there is much you can do to fix bad teeth. If they are overgrown you can get them clipped or filed down at a vet. I think that you might be thinking of a pumice stone to wear them down. I don't know if this would really help if they don't line up, but it might be ok to keep them short. You can also try some safe wood branches or toys along with hay to keep the teeth in good shape.

For the grooming, I would trim the area if get rid of any matting or really dirty bits. Corn starch is good for a dry butt bath. Sprinkle it on, then brush it out, it should get rid of some of the stains. If they are really bad, you can do a butt bath. This is when you only get the bum wet (not the whole body). Avoid using soaps as most of the dirt will come out with just water. Make sure to dry really well.
You may need to adjust the diet if your rabbits, dirty bums aren't really that good. I know 4 out of my 5 don't have dirty bums and other 5th is still pretty good but she is an angora so there is more fur for stuff to stick to. Rabbits are very clean, so do tend to keep everything clean themselves.

Thanks!

I mean its not like sick kinda dirty bum, just dirty like hutch stain and dirt kinda dirty... My mom was just concerned about getting soap in their vents and what not...

But yeah! Thanks! I'll post pictures of the clean bunnies and of them at the show when the fair is over and stuff! : )
