First of all, I don't even know if it's a he or she but I found "it" 2 days ago so I have no clue if she was ever around other rabbits or anything. I'm new to rabbits so I'm little afraid to pick her up and check, but I'll try again soon. Anyway, she likes to lay on her side, partially on her back and I've noticed her belly moves kinda down towards her leg. It looks like little pokes and waves. I felt around there a little bit and feel something sometimes, maybe like little grapes, but for all I know it's organs or something lol

Hmm it could be a she and it kind of sounds like she may be due within a week. Definitely make sure as to a buck or doe...Do you know of any rabbit people close to you that might be able to help with that?

Thanks for responding. I don't know anyone with rabbits at all. I live in Detroit so it's actually mind boggling to me I even found her.I tried picking her up again but she wasn't having any of that. She's really friendly and wants me to pet her all the time but as soon as her feet come off the ground, she flips out. I'm starting to think I might be crazy. I can put my hand partially under her belly when she's laying down, kinda toward her side and if I push just a tiny bit, I feel like something is there but it will move away. Can you usually feel anything in an unpregnant rabbit?

Not usually, unless it is a male with an undecended testicle. I know this might freak you out but feel on the underneath of its tail on either side and see if you can feel testicles, that will tell you male or female too.
I think that it has a "feminine" head. It could very well be a girl.

CCWelch - Sorry I haven't updated but thank you for asking. So far there's nothing, so I think it's probably just me imagining things. I guess if by any chance she were pregnant, it would most likely be within a week and 1/2 or so right? I can't lie though....I was a little excited about it.

HFBunnies - I did lol at this, but not bizarre at all. It actually crossed my mind before but I just can't pick "her" up to even check. I think if I am ever able to finally pick her up it wouldn't be long enough to get a pic though. I've looked at some other pics online and I think I'll be able to tell okay. I guess we'll see.

Don't take this as me being rude, but if you don't get unafraid of that rabbit and deal with a few scratches here and there you are def going to have a lot more trouble in the long run. You are going to have to learn to pick it up and check it over and clip nails, otherwise vet bills to do that sort of thing are going to add up. You wouldn't get a puppy and be afraid of it right?

also, there are some rabbit shows coming up in Michigan, you can take 'it' lol to one and someone can help you.

theres actually one in Mason, MI on June 25th/26th, and if you could make it to the show I would be more then happy to show you how to check her/him and show you a few easy ways to hold it to clip nails and what not. If its something you'd be interested in let me know.

I don't think you're being rude and you're right, but to defend myself a little bit, I didn't get this rabbit on purpose and found it outside my house. I'm usually not antzy with animals at all but this is really new to me. I'm working on it though. I've been letting 'her' come out and run through the house and she runs across us while we're sitting on the couch and loves to be pet and whatnot. Thanks for the info about the show too, I'll be sure to look into that. I think I'm going to try and watch a video or something of the proper way to do it and try again. My dog and cats also have a vet appt. coming up so I might just bring it along and maybe they can help me out too. And sorry for another dumb question...but what exactly do they do at a rabbit show? Is it kinda like a dog show? Although I've never been to one of those either lol

Just wanted to update....Cadbury is most definitely a male lol I've let him out most of the day and the past few days and he let me pick him up several times. I guess he just needed to get more comfortable.

Hi Mom21, glad to hear Cadbury is a boy.

Do you have any pictures of him? I'd love to see what he looks like. Is he litter trained? That will make your life much easier if he is.

Susan:)
