I decided to start a new blog, as my little rabbitry has taken over my life and it leaves my old blog far in the dust.

Past rabbit updates:
-Devon, our little rescue of sorts bunny, is now in the loving arms of our cousin's family, their children LOVE the little guy and he's been loving every minute of his new life. :)
-Hunter and Bently are living the good life in two HUGE NIC condos with their new mommy (my mother ^_^) she literally stole them from me and has been spoiling them like grandchildren. :p

Bella's still with us, that little darling will never leave. :inlove:

Now onto the current...

Buck2.jpg

Tye, a 1 yr old pedigreed buck
He is the biggest sweetheart! He lives for a good head scratch and loves every minute that you spend with him. As, as any born cuddler, he will stay in your arms for hours at a time.

Taz, a 1 1/2 yr old pedigreed buck
He has his issues,I'm doubting that I'll use him for breeding, since the breeder has already lined a replacement buck for me, but I like this little guy. Besides getting his teeth trimmed every two weeks, he's very quiet and lovingand has the best binkies of the bunch. lol

Havanas-

Duke, 4 1/2 month old broken chocolate buck
Pardon the lighting in the pic, he is very new to us but is AMAZING. Between his brother and himself, I choose him for his loving and very calm nature (his brother was like a jackrabbit :p ). I love his coloration and he has a very strong chocolate background in his bloodline.

Does:

Dwarf Hotot:

Kara, 4 1/2 month old sport doe
:p Her other picture is quite blurry as she likes to move right when you snap one. She's a lovely brood doe and has a very nice build to her. She's a stinker though, and learns how get into EVERYTHING that she can possibly get into. :rollseyesShe's not a cuddler in any way, but can be sweet when she wants to be.

Doe1.jpg

Momma, 2 yr old doe
She has a lot less hair then in that pick, as she is currently nesting. She's quite a cranky little girl and doesn't like anything in her cage to be messed with. We think she was kept in a cage quite a lot by her old breeders though, and that most likely added to her anger management issues. Once out in the play area she really opens up and loves to run, but doesn't binky that often. :) She's due tomorrow for her first litter (with us) and I'm super excited.

Havanas:

Lera, 4 1/2 month old chocolate doe (pardon her wiggliness in the photo)
My little Lera, she is the biggest sweetheart out of them all. She's not very active, runs a binkies a bit, but she would rather sit and lay with you for a bit while you rub her forehead. She loves to return the favor too, by licking you while you scratch her head. :inlove:I'm so hoping that she passes her loving and calm nature onto her kits.

Jasmine, 2 yr old solid chocolate doe
Jasmine is Lera and Lanna's mother. I am SO happy that I was able to buy her. Lera definitely gets her calm nature from her, this doe is a big sweetie. She's a tad bit overweight (I think from lack of exercise from her past breeder) which is why she hasn't been bred since she kindled Lera's litter. But with her daily playtime I think she'll trim up a bit and we are tentatively planning on breeding her by august or so.

B'elanna, 1 yr old solid chocolate doe
She's a moody girl, but she's currently bred and due by the end of this month, so I understand. :) We haven't done too much with her just yet, as she has kept to herself for the most part. She's starting to come around and visit for head scratches, so I think it's just a matter of time for her to get used to us and turn into the loving doe that her half-sister and mother are. :)

That it for now! Joshua is thinking about getting a breed of his own by early next month or so, young stock though so breeding won't be for a few months. I'm not quite sure on a rabbitry name for his either so that's another idea to ponder....

Keep your fingers crossed for me for nice healthy kits for both pregnant does!

Thankies,

Just an update, pictures will be added when I get my camera charged and get the buns ready for their close-ups.

Our rabbitry now has..1..2..3...22..I think rabbits including babies lol

Since my last post we now have 6 new Rhinelanders for my fiance, Joshua's breeding/showing program. 4 jr. does and 2 jr. bucks, both of whom he plans to show throughout the end of this year.

The Rhinelanders will be waiting till the very end of this year, since they are a larger breed, their breeder advised us to breed closer to 8 months of age as she has since does that care and can handle their litters better than 6 month-ers. One of the does will turn 8 months in September and we have talked with her about breeding her to one of her bucks, possibly a grand champion, since our bucks will not quite be of age at that time.
So more on their breeding within the next few months. :)

Our Hotots are doing well, we will be showing our best buck at the remaining shows this year, and will hopefully be showing one or both of the kits from this current litter, although a fellow breeder has shown interest in the buck, so he might have a new home when weaned. The doe however will be staying with us. Kara, our jr, will be ready for her first breeding soon, but she's going through her hormonal stage and is quite the sourpuss.

Our havanas have there ups and downs. Lera, the jr, is doing wonderful and is as loveable as ever. Jasmine, Lera's mother is about done with her 'weightloss plan' and I'm hopefully breeding her, along with Lera in august. B'elanna, is still quite a pain, but is at least caring for 4 of her babies, while our dwarf hotot Momma, is caring for the runts. Both runts and the larger 4 are starting to explore the great unknown outside their nest boxes and are giving quite the show. ^_^

More later and pics!
