I wanted to know if anyone here had Continental Giants? Can you only get them in UK? How do they compare in temperment with Flemish Giants?

Thanks :)

Can you post a picture of a Continental Giant? In the U.S. We have Checkered Giants, Flemish Giants and Giant Chinchillas that are huge.

After looking them up they appear to be Flemmies on steroids and are mostly bred in the UK. There are some breeders in the US but it appears few and far between.
From what i read and what I have seen I would say they have the same laid back nature of the Flemish.

That was what I was finding too looking around the web. At this point I'm more curious than seriously looking to get one. In the future I will want a big bun, but not until we buy a house. :)

Well that would definitely qualify as a big bun! Pictures of several that are 35 to 40 pounds. That's a lot of rabbit to want to pick up and cuddle with.:bunnyheart

This would primarily be my husband's bun. He claims the four we have now like me better, so they are mine. Well duah, I'm the one that feeds, cleans, and cuddles them. Of course they like me better! He also doesn't tell them that he's the head bunny when they nip, so ofcourse they nip him a lot more than me.

He wants a bun to run around the house more like a puppy. The buns we have now get out of their rooms under supervision because they tend to be naughty, but what bunny doesn't enjoy being naughty? So I'm doing more research to make sure he knows what he's getting into. With big bunnies comes big poops! LOL

LOL, may want to "Ferret proof" the house before you get a house bunny that big running around. It entails putting all your wires through PVC pipes so they are less likely to be chewed.

Well, at the moment we have NIC cube pannels two high running all the way around the rooms and blocking all furniture that has a cord coming from it (desks, tv stand, lamps etc). My Houdini is quite the accomplished cord chewer and fast too! He hit the router power supply cord in less than 30 seconds when we were first letting him roam. We learned that lesson! We found blocking him was the only way to make him behave. It took about 7 months, but it appears we FINALLY have everything bunny proofed.

With such a big bun we may have to go to three pannels if they tend to like to chew on walls. It's not the prettiest decor, but if friends don't like it they can leave. My bunnies live with me, they don't. :)
