I have one very odd rabbit. She loooooooves onion-y stuff. :expressionlessIt was my understanding that green onions shouldn't be fed. However, quitea sites say that chives and leek can be fed and Russell Rabbit has a carrot/leek food (though if the leek is dried maybe it is different?)

So...

Are chives and leek safe in small quantitiesor not?

Maybelle loves them :expressionless

I think, and you're right the info isn't very clear on this, that leek tops (the green parts) are okay where as the bulb (white parts) aren't. Leeks are like stretched bulbs, the whole white part is the bulb. Most shop leeks have the leaves chopped off pre-sale.

Scamp will nick the dry onion skin if he has a chance but doesn't eat the actual onion. He's nicked a leek before (shouldn't leave leek tops dangling off the worktop) but I think that was more curiosity as he's not actually that keen if offered them.

Thank you so much for the clarification Tamsin. I really appreciate it. I am happy to be able to give her what she loves. She's just such an oddball :p
