My rabbit Hendrix is about 6 months old. He used to be happy and active but I've noticed he his quite mellow. I hate to see him suffer but my current budget is low. I'm hoping its allergies, but lately his nose and constant sneezing tells me its more.

I have an appointment with a doctor costing 105 dollars, and I'm curious as to what might be wrong with him and the cost for treatment if its curable or treatable.

If you are seeing any white or thick colored discharge (as opposed to thin clear discharge), it would indicate an upper respiratory infection. Treatment is with antibiotics. How much it will cost depends on the antibiotic given and how long it takes to clear up. The anti inflammatory meloxicam, and a mucolytic are often helpful for URI's as well. URI's in rabbits can be difficult to clear up though, and can take weeks to months of treatment.

If it is clear discharge, it could still possibly be a URI, but it's also possible it is something else such as a sensitivity to things like household chemicals(for house buns), dust from hay or litter, or even sometimes a sensitivity to a particular type of hay or litter. Also rabbits can sometimes get debris up their nose that can cause discharge to occur. Unclean conditions and urine ammonia buildup can also cause respiratory issues. In some cases it can be due to dental problems.

Whatever vet you take your bun to, you will want to make sure they are a good rabbit vet to ensure your rabbit gets the proper treatment and best care possible.
