Hi varna!!

My concern would be the dark brown urine. It could be sludge or possibly indications of a unrinary tract issue.

Consulting a vet would probably be your best bet.

hi jim

just to ask you but

how can you get a rabbit to drink more cause i dont think she'd use asyringe as she's a rabbit that doesn't like beening handled even thoughshe loves her aromatherepy

she profers to be on the ground

Some owners have used vanilla in their buns drinking water to promote them to drink more.

When our S'more went through her GI problems she wasn't drinking muchat all. As soon as I put some vanilla in her water she started to drinkmore. I think she liked the taste.

It's the same Vanilla extract that you would use for cooking or baking. Either the imitation or natural extract can be used.

Just use enough to discolor the water a little. This will be easier todo if you mix it in a clearbottle and then put it in the bowlafter you've mixed it.

if im using shavings in lucys litter tray and the shavings are brown in the morning time

do you think she could posssibly have a uti

cause she is fine in herself but what problems would i find

if she has got a urine infection

I'm not sure what to look for regarding a UTI,but I wanted to say that you could give her some crasins (or fresh orfrozen cranberries) if that's what you suspect. They arehelpful.

I also wanted to tell you that my buns weren't so fond of the vanillawhen I first put it in their water, but now they don't want to drinkthe water if it's plain.

As for trying to syringe water to her, sometimes you just have to forceit. Abby was really good about it when she was feeling bad atthe beginning of the stasis, but when she started feeling better, shewas not happy. Try putting her in a bunny burrito and gettingthe syringe just behind her teeth. Go slow with the waterbecause you don't want her to inhale it into her lungs.

Edit: I did just think: Usually when an animal has a UTI, they willurinate very frequently. She might have trouble making thelitter box or spend a lot of time in it and only pee a little eachtime. When my cat has a UTI, he will pee all over the housebecause he can't make the litter box.

Bunnie peecan range in color from clear to yellow to red to rust to orange.

Is it possible that lucy's urine is just staining the shavings. Our buns pee turns the Woody Pet dark brown.

Is she isstraining to urinate, have a fever, had a suddenchanges in water consumption, have excessive or lack of urination, orloss of litterbox habits? These could besigns ofsuch problems as urinary tract infection, sludgeor stones.
