What does everyone use for bedding? An does anyone have a pet bed for their bunny? My bunster keeps pushing his bedding (the recycled odor absorbent stuff) out of the way and just sleeping on the plastic. He's out of his cage whenever we're home but he still sleeps on the hard wood instead of comfy areas. I have two guinea pigs and I use a thick fleece in their cage, but I'm starting to think the Tiberius would rather not have something too thick or a bed in there. Just wanted to see what everyone else did :)

I use fleece for my rabbits. They are pretty much all litter trained, so I don't have to worry too much about them peeing all over it. I do wash it all weekly.

Most of mine also have a bed. I use doughnut cat beds and those are quite popular with the buns.

My lokki is also pretty well litter trained. So he sleeps on fleece. I've used hay bedding before but it gets everywhere and it's hard to tell if he's made a mess under there. I swapped to fleece and I just fold it up on one side of his cage.

Every now and then he fixes it the way he likes it. If he wants to sleep on the plastic he pushes the fleece away like now. Or if it's a particularly cold night he'll settle on it. So yea fleece seems to work for both of us :)

You may train a bunny to do tricks, but a bunny teaches you patiences and the fragile beauty of silence.

I've given Bandit bedding, and he always pushes it aside in preference of sleeping on something else like bare tile, foam mats, a piece of cardboard etc. I suppose it's just not something he likes. It's not unusual for a rabbit to prefer sleeping on a bare surface to something else. Feel free to continue to leave bedding or fleece in there for him in case he ever wants to use it, but he'll just keep using the bare surface if that's what he prefers. At the very least, if you keep lining the cage with bedding, it will give him something to do if he has to keep pushing it aside :p

I don't recommend using bedding like carefresh anywhere other than in the litterbox as I've found it makes it harder to litter train them. I'd start with just litter in the box and a plain floor and once your bun has good litter habits, you can add something comfy. My two have a sherpa pet bed that they adore, but not all bunnies can be trusted with fabric as some will chew them.

Bunnies sleep on hard ground in the wild, so it makes sense that they'd be used to that and prefer it! I don't give bedding because my bun likes to go to the bathroom in it. Most of the cage is for hay anyway, and Miyo always pushes it out of the way so she has a nice solid spot to sleep on.

I totally agree that some bunnies *looking pointedly at Lokki* like to eat recycled paper bits like how carefresh does their bedding products.

For some reason tho, my bunny won't eat recycled paper if they come in pellets lol I'm using 'cat it' and its great. My baby lives in my room with me and there's no smell except for the smell of hay that is 😉

Hopper sleeps on the plastic, I have tried a fleece blanket, newspaper, bedding from a pet store, a hay bed, and a hay tunnel. she just moves it across her cage then stretches out on the plastics, proceeds to flop onto her side and pass out lol

Tiberius only uses his litter box to do his business and that has aspen. That's why I used the care fresh for the rest of his cage. I think I'll try fleece though... Hopefully be doesn't eat it haha
