Just curious, I bred my holland lops. the doe is solid black tort and the buck is broken black tort. Will the babies most likely be solid or broken?

Equal chances of each. Post pics when you get babies! :)

i like to use this chart

solid X broken = 50% broken 50% solid
solid X solid = 75% solid 25% broken
broken X broken = 50% broken 25% solid 25% charlies

Two solids don't carry any of the genes for broken, so how would you get 25% broken from them?

My understanding is that it should be

solid x solid = 100% solid
solid x broken =50% solid 50% broken
broken x broken =50 % broken 25% solid 25% charlie
Broken x Charlie = 50% broken 50% charlie
charlie x charlie = 100% charlie
charlie x solid = 100% broken

Yes, this is correct. For clarification purposes, I also wanted to point out that the percentages/probabilities listed above apply to each kit separately.

For example, if you breed a solid and a broken, each kit has a 50% chance of being solid or 50% chance of being broken.

It does not mean that half the litter will be solid and half will be broken. Sometimes it turns out that way, but that's coincidence, not genetics. :)
