I just bought a really nice tort buck (black). I also have a chin and blue tort buck. The sad thing is...at the moment I only have one breeder doe and sheis black.

So the question is...can I breed all 3 of those to her? If I can I will just have to pick which color I want. I am sureabout the chin and black tort but what about the blue tort? What colors can I breed with him if not the black? :?

What is in the background of the black? Most of the time black is safe with any color. However, I would only breed the black to the shaded varieties if the black has some shaded varieties in the background :)

It can't hurt to try. You may get a color that you can't show but you should get some showable ones. With shaded varieties, you can only breed them to self and other shadeds. You shouldn't breed them to any color in the tan pattern group or in the AOV group.

Ok. So she can be bred with the blue tort then? I just might get a few unshowables? ...the thing is...I think he needs more blue in his tort. lol Hmmm...I need more does anyway. Maybe I can find a better doe for him.... Or not breed him at all. These are such hard choices! Can you look at them for me.... choose which one I should try. The Chinchilla or the Black tort.:biggrin2:( Beavers' No Name and Maple Valley's No Name)

Going just from the pics.... I like either one. I can't put my hands on them so it is really tough. I like their heads and I am partial to chinchillas. Any of the bucks would be fine with the black doe.

Basically, think about what you need your rabbits to improve on and breed for that.

Ok. :) Thanks a bunch. I will look over all 3 of them today and pick which buck would be the best match...I think the tort. The doe has a better body and he has a great head and ears where she is lacking...so I think I will try that...

Thanks again!
