I have a 3 week old broken castor kit. I am not sure if this little guy is showable or not. I have not found anything online. I have someone interested in purchasing it in a few weeks for her daughter for 4h but I dont wanna sell it as showable if it is not. I am going to try to post a picture of it. Bear with me!....:) This kit is a broken castor and where the hips are the castor color turns into a greyish lilac color. I bought the doe bred and she is a broken lilac and I found out that she was bred to a castor. I dont know if the link will work but its the best pic I could find that you can kinda see the greyish on its hips.

From what I can tell from the picture, the rabbit's color would not make it showable. The ear lacing looks to be almost a lilac color (it should be black if it were a true castor). Not to mention, the coloring doesn't seem to have a proper black agouti band to it. (in fact, if it weren't for the very faint grey ticking on the rump of your rabbit and it's parentage, I wouldn't have even thought it was a broken castor, but probably a blue tort. But this is not the case.)

If a castor is not bred with another castor (or least preferably a red or a black), then it will drastically lose it's intesity and banding. Any other colors, such as your broken lilac for example, will ruin the color of theoffspring.

I agree with you on that. I bought her bred. I am looking for a buck for her now. I found a REW that is genetically lilac to breed to her. So I am really excited about that. I am gonna sell these kits as pet quality. Thanks for the info.
