Color changing bunny?

Over the past several weeks, Whidbey's black ears and paws have turned very light gray/almost white.
I read somewhere that this happens when they're in the heat (I keep the house at 75 in the summer), but I wasn't sure how true that was.
Will his ears and paws turn back to black?

It can be because of a molt also

What breed is he? My californians used to do that. It would turn darker later on.

He's (probably) a Californian or Himalayan mix.

Californians change color based on heat. It especially happens in their first summer/hot period. During the winter the darker fur will grow back.

YAY! Good news for me to hear the black will come back-I was just wondering the same thing with Ripley-its been really hot out and he's molting so all this white is coming in on his ears. He doesn't look nearly as perfect for a pointed white as before. I hope he does get the black/dark grey back soon!
