Ok So I was emailing local rescue for the rescue list and i have been noticing that, a lot of site say coastal hay is not good for bunnies.

Is this true?

Storm and Jessi both get 90 percent Coastal Hay. So i was wondering why this would be? Or if it is even true.

There is no way with two buns I could feed ox bow hay. I would break bank as much as they both eat.

Thanks

Coastal hay is just dried bermuda grass. I have never heard of it being bad for bunnies. In fact, I have read that it is great for horses, quite common to feed -- and I've read time and again that "any hay good enough for a horse is good enough for a rabbit.

From HRS, bermuda grass has slightly more protein than timothy while slightly less fiber. It is not quite as high in protein as alfalfa hay, and has way less calcium in it than alfalfa.
