ok, so this summer i'm trying to clean my room up-get rid of some of the kiddie toys, get all the books and mags off my floor, ect. that being said, i'm also tossing some of the errmm, younger decor, (i.e. the American Girl magazine posters and the high school musical mini posters are being boxed;)) they covered my closet doors, and now they look a little.......bare:X. so i'm trying to figure out what i can do to make them look better. it's two folding doors, woody colored. they can not be painted or anything. i'm thinking something kinda artsy, but i'm really not sure what! it needs to be cheap, but i am pretty crafty, so making something isn't a big deal. i can't wait to hear y'alls idea's, i've got...........cleaners(or decorators:p)block maybe? or maybe i've just been staring at it too long.....................!

I'm trying to read this right so I don't come out with something crazy LOL. I'm not with it today at all. I'm thinking you are wanting to redecorate your doors where the posters were? I would go at it like crazy and make a giant collage of things you like now and will in the future... like... hmm.. RABBITS? :)Some of your favorite sayings, pictures of places you want to visit, or things you want to do. That's what I had on my walls when I was younger. Pictures of mountains I wanted to see, and animals, mine, or just pictures I printed off the computer, or cut out of magazines.

As a grown up I still put collages on my fridge and change them all the time with little sayings, pictures from our trips, and mostly pictures of our animals :)Some people that come to visit actually stop to check out what pictures I've put on the fridge LOL.

Hope that helps give you some ideas :)

Cover them in butcher paper and decorate to your hearts content. Glue on pics, draw, write inspirational sayings or even have your friends right you little notes on them. And the cool thing is...when you get tired of it tear it down and start over again.

When you say they can't be painted could you not do just some kind of design?

My closet is painted white with big flowery patterns up it that my friend did for me. I'll have to get a picture

If not, 'bare' is not always bad. I really like it sometimes when everything is clean and clear, makes the room appear bigger (unless you don't live in a box like me!)

I'm not sure if this is a possibility for you or not, but many stores (such as Target, Walmart, Home Depot) sell stick-on decals for walls that would most likely also work on closets. And the great thing about them is that they are removable so when you're tired of them they can come off without ruining the woodwork. I've used them in the past in a bedroom and was really pleased with the results. Unfortunately I don't have a pic to share, but I know they're pretty easy to find and not on the expensive side. If I remember correctly they're pretty reasonable price-wise.

Another option could be to make your own wall hangings that you can put up on each of the closet doors. You could do something with wire and make it an art project. They even have different widths of wire that's easily moldable along with a ton of different colors. And it's also pretty inexpensive. You could do the same thing with any art that you feel like creating. Your closet doors could be like a mini art studio.

Have you considered buying a framed picture or two that you like? Or do you have a pic of Jamie or the cats that you'd like to have framed? A frame would be more "grown up" than a poster and it's something that could be changed at will without too much expense or trouble.

Any which way, good luck with your creating and let us know what you decide on!
