One of my adult rabbits has the eyes almost completely closed,it has a little mucus in the eyes but really very little.
In the past, we have rabbits with eye infections and we always treated them with antibiotics drops with very good results.
But this situation is completely new for us and we don't know how to do.
After 2 days with antibiotic drops in both his eyes the situation is the same and also it eats very little.
Generally the other rabbits with eye infections always had the eyes completely open, not almost closed like this one.
Thanks for yr advice.

Can you get him to a vet? I know you're in a different country and a lot of the time vets are hard to come by, but if you could get him to a vet that would be good.

Have you wiped his eyes out with a warm damp cloth, to get that mucus away?

The rabbit not eating much is very concerning, maybe you could try to mash up some pellets with water and make a slurry of food and syringe feed him to make sure he is getting something, make sure he has enough hay and if you have to syringe him some water too. If you give him any leafy greens make sure they have extra water on them to help keep him hydrated.

I hope that helps a little. Hopefully someone will come along who has better experience with this kind of thing. Hopefully your bun will be okay! Good luck!

Yes, mashing pellets up sounds good. I would get a jar of baby food, either squash or carrot, & add that. But it does seem like a vet visit is needed.

And while the antibiotic drops probably didn't hurt, I would always start with a simple water & salt solution, in case the problem is just dirt in the eye & can be washed out. You can use the eye drops meant for humans, just not the kind that says it removes redness.

It sounds like you may be dealing with more than a simple eye infection. You should probably get it in to see a vet.

Is it one or both eyes? If it's both eyes, then it could be myxomatosis, if that is active in your area. That can cause the eyes to swell shut and often the ears feel swollen too.

I don't think that myxomatosis is huge where the OP is, but it is definitely a possibility.
Are the rabbits genitalia swollen? Are his head and ears swollen?
You need to get to a vet right away. If it is myxi you need to know, because it can be passed to your other rabbits.
