Okay so some of you know one of my rabbits is due to have kits in the next couple days. I bred her on the 12 of June so tomorrow is Technically 30 days. But I didn't count the day she was bred. Anyways , I have been gone camping for the past week basically and would really like to clean her cage out. Is it safe to do this?? Or what do you suggest? She has not built a nest yet

I'd be leery of any chemical smells near her or vacuuming noise, but that just might be me. Diluted vinegar should be ok for cleaning & I'd clean up by [plastic glove-covered] hand this once.

Yea, I'd keep the vacuum cleaner away from herfor now and just use a whisk broom to sweep the stuff off the floor. If you're using a nestbox for the kits theywill be in that for a couple of weeks before venturing out.

Did you put the nest box in?

I cleaned Oreo's cage right before and just maintained it (sweeped up stuff)

Her cage is pretty clean now, i wont be cleaning or messing with it for a little while, but i do take out the litter box and clean that.

Yeah, I put one in for her, and she just pushes it around. All I had for her this time was a cardboard box. I filled it with straw, and she took it all out. I left it in there for her though. She does have a small nest where she likes to sleep under the ramp of the hutch, so I am assuming thats where she will nest. Which I think is okay aswell, it is a well hidden spot, and it is a solid floor cage. I guess I will see where she does nest.
