This is Monkey he is from my last litter of dutch. His father Chocolate (brown eyes) and mother black. He was the only chocolate in the litter of 4. He is now 4 months old. My mom noticed his one eye is half blue and the other is all blue! Does this come out alot in dutch? He is just a pet,as i dont think im going to breed dutch any more since they dont sell here. I still have 3 of the 4 from the last litter.

He sure is a pretty boy tho!;)

We have one that is part Dutch and part Black Otter. His right eye is 2/3 blue and 1/3 brown. His left eye is 1/3 blue and 2/3 brown. Your guy is the only other that we seen with bi-colored eyes. Seen several with two different colored eyes but never with two colors in an eye.

He is definitely very pretty! :) I love chocolate colored bunnies, they look sooo pretty! And that bun's eyes made him 10x cuter! That's very cool :)

That is very interesting. I have never seen that on a Dutch before, but it definitely has something to do with his genetics.

redthunderrabbits/rae, has a black dutch doe that is like that. one blue eye, one half blue half brown eye.

I had a holland lop buck that was like that, it's kind of freaky at first glance. certainly not showable but neat looking.

I know your pain when it comes to dutch not selling. they don't down here in KY either. I think i'm just going to retire my adults and just show them, have a litter or two ready to sell at shows but that's about it.

It is something to do with the genetics that allow for their particular pattern. I am not 100% sure what it is that causes it, but it seems to be fairly common in Dutch's.
