:dunno:

Just to answer a few questions before they are asked!!!

1) She's not going to have babies (yes, I am sure, Benji has no... little buddies)

2) She's a little over a year old

3) She's had two litters that we know of (not on our behalf, stupid pet stores!)

4) She's not spayed (yet...)

She has been digging for the last few weeks and we changed her littletray so the woody pet would not go over the sides and all of a studdentoday this is what happened!!

Daddy said its her hormones kicking into gear, any ideas??

Will that affect her in a bad way? I don't want anything bad to happen to her! Is there anything I can do to help her? I don't want to give her a stuffed animal because the insides are not good for her!

How long ago was Benji neutered? Sperm can live 3 weeks or more after the neuter (just read that at the house rabbit society)

or

Could be a false pregnancy as well.

I just went thru the same thing and everyone thought it was hormones lol and I ended up with 4 kits ! She would run around with paper towels in her mouth looking for a place to put them, she would rearrange her hay. She would also dig for what seemed like 24hours a day.

Benji has been neutered for over a year now! He is our only male rabbit!

Amber would kick everything out of her litterbox prior to being spayed. She also tried to rearrange everything inher cage. After her spay, she stopped this behavior. Chippy's behaviormay be signaling that she is ready for a spay.

Liquorice used to do this, she would run downthe ramp from her hutch into the run in when you let her out themorning with a big bunch of straw inher mouth. She still didafter being spayed. I thought she looked cute.

Hi Danielle! Basil built a nest a fewmonths ago in a false pregnancy. I have a thread about itaround here somewhere...I'll bump it. In the thread, Carolynmentions some things to watch out for.

Does sound like a false pregnancy, Doll. Shehasn't been spayed right? Although with some rabbits, even afterthey've been spayed will continue this behavior.

Wouldn't worry too much as long as she's eating, pooping, etc. If Jencouldn't find the thread for you that I mentioned the symptoms of falsepregancy, give me a shout and I'll get it for you.

Silly Chippy!!

:)

The hair is being pulled out now! Shes got this big clump of white fur in her nest. Its definatly a false pregancy !!

Shes also really sleepie.

LADIES AND GENTS! THE FUR IS NOT FLYING!

Hope you did read the post on False Pregancythat Jen found for you. If you haven't, do. There are some things youdo have to be careful of when they go through their false pregnancies.

The second picture in this post is absolutely adorable. It makes mesmile every time. Caught in the act! What a little doll she is.

Chippy is doing fine. There no apparent adverse side effects from her false pregnancy.

However, I was wondering how long we should leave her "nest" alone. It's been 3 weeks now.

We put a litter pan in her cage and she has been very good at using itand doesn't empty it out like she was doing before she built her nestin her old one.

She still likes to sit in her nesting box, but it is kind of dirty. I'dlike to at least clean it out a little, but I don't want to upset herand have her revert back to kicking litter all over the place again.

:?NEW DEVELOPMENT........S'more has decided that shewants to have a nest, too. She started yesterday. A least she used hersleepie box instead of her litter pan like Chippy did. She's 2 1/2 andspayed. No "physical" contact with a male since we've had her. Gofigure....silly bunnies :D. Do you suppose that they'll all taketurns:?. I've got 6 does . I may have to invest in a bale of hayor straw ;).
