Prince, my Netherland Dwarf rabbit, has been chewing on his cage for quite some time now and he won't stop. I have been afraid that his teeth would not be good cosidering he is chewing on his cage. So when I took him and Sweetie in to check their ears I had the vet check Prince's teeth just to make sure that they were okay and not bad. Turns out Prince's teeth are really good, they aren't bad at all from chewing on his cage all the time. His cage chewing is very annoying to me. I have told him to stop and what not, but he keeps chewing on his cage. I do have a ball that is safe for him to chew on in his cage but he very rarely chews on it, I thought that it was a hit with him and he would stop chewing on his cage, but no. Still chewing on his cage.

I am thinking about letting him be free range, but I have to let Sweetie be free range and she isn't litterbox trained fully yet, getting there though. I am at college Monday through Friday most of the day. I have a cat, but she seems to be not interested in them, she won't go into their area. I have tried introducing Anne (the cat) and Sweetie but as soon as Sweetie checked out Anne, Anne pawed at Sweetie, not nicely at all. I made sure Sweetie was okay and still keeping an eye on her for any damage from the cat.

I guess that I am wondering what I can do to stop Prince from chewing on his cage that would be the safest for him and Sweetie. Sweetie doesn't chew on her cage at all. Should I let them be free range in their area, but watch them to make sure they don't tear up the carpet again? First time I let them be free range for a couple days Sweetie decided to tear a couple holes into the carpet by the wall, I have her cage covering the holes. Another thing that I am concerned with is Prince jumping over the playpen. He can jump up onto the cage and I am afraid that he may jump over the playpen. Sweetie's cage is right next to the playpen. I have the rabbit area blocked off by a playpen, the rabbit area is from the playpen to the wall. There are three walls and the playpen.

I am also afraidsince the meeting between Anne and Sweetie didn't go so well to have Prince and Anne meet.

So I guess I am asking how can I get Prince to stop chewing on his cage? How can I have a successful meeting between Anne (the cat) and my rabbits?
