Hi all,
I am out of town, before I left my bunny seemed to hit puberty and was a little nuts for 2 days but then was acting normally again.
I have just received a notice from the human watching over her that she chewed through her phone cable. I find this really odd because my bunny has 100% no history of chewing anything. I let her run around in my small art studio, where I am an electronic artist. There are cables everywhere, more than just behind your TV I'm talking its hard for me to walk around there's so much stuff in a small space. The bunny loves it though and is always running through the root like tangles of cable and hiding under dirty laundry. The only thing she ever grabbed to chew on was a bamboo spoon I left on the floor. She seems to chew on her pen gate occasionally when she wants attention or food. It never lasts past that.

I told my friend to feed her fresh veggies if she starts chewing anything. But somehow last night she chewed through her phone cable. It seems like it is possible she was not being monitored when this happened. Maybe she was not getting enough food too?
I know rabbits chew naturally but have never had an issue with this bun and want some others opinions and ideas about this situation from other rabbit owners.
Each of the 3 rabbits I have had has been radically different from the previous and I still feel there is a lot to learn.

Here's a great site on bunny-proofing: http://binkybunny.com/BUNNYINFO/tabid/53/CategoryID/8/PID/940/Default.aspx

Mine didn't chew very much as babies, but they chew like mad now (mostly the coroplast floors of their condo). Bunny-proofing is always the safest way to go even if your bunny has no history of chewing, since you never know when they'll decide to taste-test something!

This thread has some great discussion on cord protection: http://www.rabbitsonline.net/f69/tricks-house-proofing-78293/

My bun buns has chewed thru soooo many of my phone cords, my lamp cords even a thick cord from my air conditioner! Now I keep all cords put up, don't even use my lamps anymore, and every night before bed I have to unplug my tv and put up the cord! Since I don't keep him in his cage anymore he hated that thing and was always so depressed in it. He's so much happier running free! wish there was something to put around cords that bunnies couldn't chew through tho

I'm deff gonna have to check that out especially since I'm finally getting a flat screen for Christmas! (I'm not actually suppose to know that) I don't want him chewing that up! Imbrium this site is very lucky to have yu! :)

*blush* Thanks! I wouldn't know nearly as much if it weren't for other RO members, though! ;)
