Hi! I’m new on this forum. I have looked through old forums, but can’t find anything the same as my problem. My rabbit, I bought her 1 week ago from a lady who had an accidental breeding. My rabbit is free roaming my bottom floor. She has a pen, but the door is always open, and she loves to jump in and out.

This morning, I came to see my rabbit chewing the bars. I tried lifting the pen so she could get out. But she did not move. I gave her more hay, incase it was her teeth, but she just looked at it, but she has already ate her food.

Any advice? Thanks in advance

Was she locked in the pen when you found her chewing the bars? Does she have hay 24/7 that is refreshed every day (regardless of whether or not it is gone)?

You don't want her chewing on the bars because it can misalign her teeth. You could provide cardboard boxes to chew or tp tubes. If she persists in chewing a particular area of the pen, you can zip-tie cardboard to that section and replace as needed.

Hi. No she was not locked inside the pen at that time. She did have hay but I switched to a different type to see if that would work. It was only that particular area that she was chewing. I have switched to another cage [still 24hr access to rest of the house] and she seems to have stopped. I have brought a few cardboard boxes and did as you said and it worked. Thank you!
