Hi,
My bun was neutered on wednesday and he is acting like nothing happened! He is runny around doing binkies and eating fine. Is this normal for him to recover so quick? I was also wondering if it is normal for the area to look pretty swelled. It looks like he wasn't even neutered!!! Also, will the little "sacs" (if you can call them that...:?) go away? I know in cats and dogs they kind of disappear but in rabbits will they getsmaller?

thanks so much!

It's great to hear that he's doing so well!

I've never had a male done, just females, but I've heard that they usually recover from neutering very quickly. The last two girls I had spayed were acting mostly normal after only a few days. I also think it's normal for the "sacs" to swell a bit, but they should get smaller soon. If not, or if they look irritated, red, or if Chewie seems to be licking them a lot more than normal, have a vet check it. The sacs will shrink and be mostly unnoticable.

I just had my three foster babies neutered two weeks ago, and they acted like nothing had ever happened.

There genitals looked swollen, but that went away after a few days.

It sounds like it's going well.

Great news! Males bounce back from a neuter much faster than a female would from a spay. My rabbits were fixed on the same day. Devon (male) was back to normal after about two days; Amber (female) took almost a week and a half to recover.
