My name is myia, and I have a 2 month old Lionhead named Chewbacca :)
It was a present from my boyfriend, and is from a mall petstore (Horrible, I know)
I have lots of other animals, 3 chinchillas, 2 hamsters, 5 geckos, and 2 snakes along with various fish. 1 of my chins is a rescue, along with one hamster and three of my geckos.

I am a little worried, I have had him since Friday, however, I was out of town so he stayed at my boyfriends. I am a little worried that he has some crust around one of his eyes, I cleaned it up. I think maybe something got into his eyes, but I will keep an eye out and take him to a vet. His eyes are still bright and alert.

Also, he seems to be licking my arm sometimes. Is this a sign of affection?

Enjoy :)

And if anyone wants to see photos of my other animals, please feel free to ask!

Welcome Myia!
Chewbacca is super adorable, the name is very fitting as well. Keeping watch on his eye sounds like a good course of action, it likely was caused by a mild irritation or possibly even just gunkies like us humans get in the morning.

Welcome!
My friends rabbit is called Chewbacca to!!
Cool!

He is sooo cutee!!!
He looks a bit like my Dippy but just a more gingery colour!

Hope to see yaaa around

:welcome1to RO, Myia!

Your little Chewbacca would do best on a diet of pellets and timothy hay for the time being... I wouldn't advise a wide array of veggies, as they are linked to gastrointestinal upset in some young rabbits... Better safe than sorry :)

Very glad to hear his eyes are bright and alert... you can tell so much from their eyes, . A bit of crust may be due to dust irritating the eyeball. You can gently wipe it away with a soft, wet warn cloth (or saline solution).

Licking is ALWAYS a good thing! I take it to mean that they like you.

Be sure to check out the Lagomorph Library for plenty of great information on rabbit health, behaviour, bonding suggestions and nutrition.

See you on the main board!

No worries NorthernAutumn, he and my chinchillas eat fresh alfalfa pellets and fresh timothy hay.
I wasn't planning on feeding fresh veggies anytime soon, but when I do I give a mix of greens.

Glad you all like him :)
I figured chewbacca might be a common name, but my boyfriend and I are pretty big star wars geeks lol
I am glad its a good sign! Its a lot nicer than the chinchillas...the nibble to say they like you lol!
