Yesterday I went to the local pet store (the only store that carries Oxbow) and I came upon multiple choices of the Oxbow Adult rabbit pellets. They used to only carry the Oxbow Adult Rabbit Essentials, but they didn't have it in stock. Now they have this other "better" version or it may be the same as the Essential version? But it's a whopping $15 dollars for a 4lb bag! And for the Essentials I paif around $12 dollars for a 5lb bag! What is going on?! And also to add, there is an Oxbow Organic line that is $13 for a 3 to 3.5lb bag (can't remember exactly the poundage). So which is the better option now? I thought Oxbow all in all was a great brand, but now they have all these other options. And personally, I hope they are not getting rid of the Oxbow Essentials because it was the best deal of them all.

I understand when companies research to improve their product, but I just don't understand why they split it with different types. It just loses something when that happens. Just my opinion on that.

Neville and Luna did so well to the switch of Oxbow Essentials for Young Rabbits, and now Rubeus has almost made the switch, that I hope they don't make so many options for their Young Rabbits.

I was even considering switching Neville, who is now on adult food, Dobby, Willard and Kreacher to Oxbow Essentials for Adults, but now I hesitate about all these options.

Hoping someone can give some insight on this for you. I would really like to know as well.

I buy Oxbow 50 pounds at a time because I have a source where I can get the big bag for $45, so much cheaper per pound. I really hope I can get the normal in the big bags. I may have to get another bag before the switch hits there too.

Oxbow does have a new line of pellets, but it is not replacing the Essentials products.
If the store didn't have them in stock, it is just because they sold what they had and haven't been able to bring new stock in yet? If that is the case then you can ask them to contact you when they do get some in.

I am sticking with the Essentials timothy stuff. It can get it for about $14 for 10 pounds and that only lasts me a month now. I can't imagine paying like double that.
I have heard that the new stuff is good for rabbits who have trouble switching pellets to need something to encourage them to eat. I guess it tastes different, so is more palatable for some rabbits.

At $12 for 5 pounds, you would really come out ahead to order the 50 lb. bag. Any Oxcbow dealer can special order it for your.

Where can you contact a dealer?

I just find it annoying because here I thought I was feeding my rabbit a great product, and then Oxbow comes out with all these other "great" options (but for more money obviously). So now I am second guessing what I am feeding him now (Oxbow Rabbit Essentials - Adult)!

Oxbow in general is a wonderful brand, but now that they have such new feeds as in "organic"....is the non-organic feed really not that good (and "pure) for my bun? I thought by giving him Oxbow that I was doing pretty good as an owner concerned about my rabbit's nutrition.
