First post, sorry if I miss anything out.

2.5yr (I think, she was a rescue) Netherlands dwarf, 2 days home after 3 in hospital with stasis. Pooping and eating like a champ now, teeth are fine, no gas, no pain, no temperature and gut sounds are gurgling along great. Taking Baytril twice daily (stops day after tomorrow). House bunny, has run of my bunny proofed studio flat (not kitchen/bathroom). I'm always home, and there are no other animals.

Since she's been home she's like a different bunny. Before she wasn't overly cuddly and was super willful but loving (in her own way haha). What I mean is, she'd headbutt me til I gave her ear rubs, but she'd also be incredibly wrathful if I upset her. Now she's being incredibly passive. She sleeps on her side out in the open, and if I'm sitting down she sleeps with her head on my floor cushion (Asian household). She lets me touch her tummy/feet where before this would get a grunt and stamp. She's letting me stroke her while she falls asleep. She licked me for the first time ever. Instead of headbutting/nipping me for attention she puts her front paws on my leg, or my shoulder if I'm laying down, and just waits.

She's not dopey or lethargic though. She plays with her toys, and runs the bunny 500 round the room still and climbs on everything, is interested in anything new I bring in. But I'm just incredibly weirded out. This is the sickest she's ever been and also the loveliest she's ever been so I'm wondering if maybe she's just taking her time recovering and she'll go back to normal. But I sort of expected her to be withdrawn and wary after being ill, instead it's the opposite.

Is this normal? Or should I be looking out for something? Is it a side effect of the Baytril maybe? Is she sick again maybe? Am I just otherthinking things? I know this all makes me sound crazy it's just she's never been like this, and after she went down so quickly with stasis I've been a bit freaked out.

I have heard other people on here mention that their buns are extra loving when they are ill. maybe they are just smart enough to realize they need us when ill so are more loving. If your bun is not showing any signs of being ill or in pain then I would not worry and just enjoy. I know when I am ill I feel more needing of affection.

My cat was more loving while pregnant which I have read is normal for cats, maybe their way of ensuring they have a home and plenty to eat while pregnant.

It is certainly interesting. We have a bunny that's a little hellion and she wasn't any nicer when she had gas. As long as you're sure she's not being lethargic, then it's ok. Baytril doesn't usually have psychic effects, if that's a concern. If it were buprenorphine, or one of the other narcotics, then you might see some more "relaxed" behavior.
