The black kitten I am fostering has a distendedbelly. Has had it since we got her out of the shelter. I have wormedher twice and it isnt going down. What else would cause this?

Is her belly tight? She might havegas. My kittens had that from coccidea, which should show upon a fecal exam. And what wormer are you using? Shemight have a different type of worm, ie tapeworms instead of the morecommon roundworms.

The wormer is for roundworms. It was the onlything I could find. And yep, it is tight. One night I could feel isrumbling, the next morning she was somewhat better and I thought "yay!it was gas and she is better now". But it just came right back.

Sounds like a trip to the vet for some coccidia meds. We use albon on dogs for that, do you use the same thing for cats?
