Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to buy a new carrier to take to shows. I am wanting the 4 compartment carrier but am undecided on whether to get the solid metal dividers or if the wire will be fine. I don't remember having a problem putting two bunnies side-by-side when I showed several years agobut I could see a potential problem if two bucks were sharing a wire divider.:shock:I'd be worried a fight might break out....do you think this could happen? What do you have?

Thanks for any advice!

Lindsey

edited for spelling...;-)

The wire between should be small enough they can't hurt each other, I've never had issues with that. I have some of both type actually...the solids are part of my setup that has a cart so I use those most often cuz they are easiest...but have never had issues w/ the ones seperated by wires.

I recommend solid, although we do sometimes use wire when transporting juniors or when transporting in hot weather when excellent ventilation is needed.

Some rabbits may also get intimidated and stressedby their neighbor in a wire divided carrier.

Although I have both solid and wire, I prefer the solid dividers, especially between 2 bucks. Nothing worse than getting to a show and finding out they had a p_ssing war with each other.

All my carriers have solid dividers. Even if the don't fight or spray each other

the can still chew on each others fur. They wouldn't look too pretty at the show

with a new haircut.

The carriers I have (they actually have no pans, where can I get new pans for them? I think my dad could make some...but???) have solid dividers and wire floors. Solid dividers are good, that way no bucks fight or breed through the bars. That's what I would get. I'm actually looking at some new ones for $10 each, that have pans, etc. I have to get some pictures to see exactly what they look like, though.

Can you find any inexpensive lids to plastic storage containers that would fit your carriers?

Pam

Walmart ;) They don't need to be deep (although you could use the plastic storage containers themselves, I think the lids could work out nice).
