OMG....we just got back from having supper out to celebrate my birthday. We went to one of my favorite places - I had chicken marsala w/ fettucine alfredo...Art had Red Snapper and I forget what Robin had.

I'd never seen or had cannoli - and it is homemade there ... so I tried some.

OH MY....I think I'm still in heaven.

I need a recipe...I know I can find them online...but I want a recipe that someone can recommend from experience.

I haven't had a cannoli in quite a while.

They're really easy to find around here in most of the good bakeries.

My favorite are the ones with chocolate chips in the filling.......yummmmmmm.

Jim,

This had chocolate chips in it - and it tasted like there was a bit of cinnamon too...

Are you suddenly on your way out the door for some cannoli?

I know I want to be... just thinking about it.

Cinnamon is a common ingredient. Vanilla, too.

Some have candied orange zest or candied cherries.

Almonds, pistachios, pecans, and various liqueurs, too

There's also the chocolate filling.....let's not go there pleeeeeze
***wipes drool off mouth***
.

CHOCOLATE-CHOCOLATE CHIP.....AHHHHHHH!!
.....WITH THE ENDS DIPPED IN CHOCOLATE
.....Oh my!

I'm gonna have to stop on the way home tomorrow and pick some up.
All the stores are closed now.....the ones that would have them anyway.
Maybe there's some Oreos in the pantry.

Sorry Jim - Oreos won't cut it here.

Now I understand the line in The Godfather....

"Leave the gun....TAKE THE CANNOLI"
