can lucy actually have alfaalfa hay instesd

im finding with lucy

she'll only eat a little

of her meadow hay but

she'll eat all of her alfaalfa hay

im getting a sample pk of timothy hay

from west wales willows to try her on

why are they so fussy

If she is a baby then I would suggest using 1part alfalfa and 1 part timothy hay, but if she's an adult I'd suggestmoving her to timothy hay. Alfalfa hay has a lot of calories and can bepretty fatty.

Unfortunatly I don't kow what you mean by "meadow hay", but I've had a really stupid day. XP

Is that wheat, oats, and/or barley?

She may not take to it at first, but she shouldeventually get used to it. When my Camper was very young and sick thevet had me give him a diet of about 1/4 cup of pellets and 1/2 alfalfa1/2 timothy hay so he could gain weight. When he became of age I movedhim to a timothy-based pellet and timothy hay diet with dark leafyveggies. He didn't really take to it at first and he kind of looked atme like "you're kidding." When he realized that's what he needed to eathe went for it. I would just try mixing it for about a week and thenkeeping him on the timothy, and hopefully it should work out for you.Most rabbit owners use timothy hay and I've never heard anyone saytheir rabbit didn't like it.

You can get the Timothy Hay from Pets at Home. It's in a tinylittlebag for about £3. I have never seen Alfalfa though.

I use meadow hay too, it lasts much longer and mine use it in their sleeping compartment for bedding too.

oxbow

and if you go to google and type in timothy hay

you'll come up with west wales willows

i have ordered a sample pk for lucy to try as they do so many sizes of hay but its all gro#wn on the premises
