hi there

can someone tell me the difference

between myometosis and the vhd please

as my vet has said lucy doesnt need the myxi jab as she doesnt gooutside but i thinkyou should always have thempretected

whats your views and can someone tell me

varna xxxx

I'm surprised by what your vet toldyou. Myxomatosis can be spread by fleas, which can find theirways indoors even if you don't have animals that go outside.I don't know how close you are to some of the myxomatosis "hot zones"right now, but it's best to keep up with the vaccinations just in case.

Go with your gut feeling and get her vaccinated anyway.:)

A number of sources state that the myxo vaccineis not necessary ifgood vector controlisadequate.

The VHD & myxo vaccines should not be given at the same time,so vaccinating for both would require 2 vet trips. (A twoweek period between the vaccines is recommended).

There has also been controversy about the use of myxo vaccines due to side effects.

These may be some of the reasons that the vet has recommended against using the myxo vaccine for Lucy at this time.

Ohh i wish we had the myxo vaccine here in Australia,i would absolutely have my buns vaccined, the Australian government has the vaccine but will not allow it to the aussie bunny owners because they fear that immunity may pass to the wild rabbit population, but there has been scientific reports that the wild rabbits are producing their own immunity against it anyway

:nonoshame on the aussie government for not protecting our pets
