hi, i was just wondering if you could tell me thedifference between a californian rex and a himalayan rex as i have ahimalayan and i was just looking at a picture of a californian and theylook very similar! Thanks, Leanne :)

The proper term for that variety in the Rex breedis "Californian" (black points). The term for thatsamevariety in the Mini Rex is "Himalayan" (black or bluepoints).

Opps -- just realized that you are from theUK. I believe the term "Himalayan" is used for both Rex andMini Rex in the UK.

Ok I am completely confused now. (so that's not a hard thing to do, but still..... )

Are all Himmies/Californians in the rex breed?

or are there Himmies and Californians as a breed and then there are those colors in the rex breed?

The Californian breed is a commercial mediumsized breed. The term can also refer to a variety (color) inother breeds.
