Here is the scenario.
I have babies due tonight/in the morning. It is in a heated barn, but it is still chilly, even for me with a hoodie on, it's a huge metal barn with no insulation, concrete floors and metal cages. It is supposed to be 35 tonight. The thing with Californians is, as newborns, if they get cold, the tips of their fur turns grey. Silver almost. While they look cute, most likely, they will not blow those coats in time to be shown for our show in mid April.
Evil Rabbit Overlord Eddie says it doesn't matter, that is a characteristic of a Californian, and the grey coat is ARBA legal, and I can go to any ARBA show ANYWHERE and they are legal to show. I beg to differ. It clearly says the solid white body with the black to dark grey markings is preferable, but he does have a vested interest in misguiding me, if mine look bad, his will beat mine.
So the mommas are in the barn, they have nest boxes, they lined them with hay themselves, they pulled fur. I have heat lamps on them.. not bearing down on them. but aimed in their direction. The north wind is off them, and the barn will be closed up tonight when it is at it's coldest...but it is still drafty.. so is there anything else I can do?
I also don't want to overheat...
And yeah I know.. Eddie is full of crappola..
