Just curious, has anyone managed to train their rabbit/bunny to do tricks?

So far I have a couple basic ones down, Toby runs to me when I shake his treat bowl, stands on his hind legs when I say up, and hops in a circle when I say turn.

Of course positive reinforcement has to be there or he stops listening. I used to use the treat bowl shake as a lure to get him back in his cage... he sure stopped listening once he figured that out.

I do agility with my rabbits. I don't use treats, just prasie and they run because they want to. We had a pratise last night and could just put some rabbit down off the course and they could go over and run it without needing help. Amelia can even pull down the teeter totter and that only took about 5-10 minutes to teach her. I also trained Penelope to do the weave poles in about 15 minutes.

I don't really work on other things though. I have tried with Korr, but he just gets bored after a while. I think I have offended him by offering treats, he knows he is too good for such tricks.

You could just move to Calgary and join the Rabbit Hopping Club :big wink::whistling. He would probably start to understand soon enough, most of them learn the course in an hour or 2.

:p I could!

Next time there's an event or whatever it's called (so ignorant of the rabbit hopping ways) you'll have to let me know! I'd love to see what it's all about. Maybe I can make a road trip down, though probably without Toby. Why do bunnies hate car rides soooo much?

We will actually be in Edmonton on the 14th, but it's to audition for Canada's Got Talent and not a public performance. We don't have any other Edmonton events in the near future though.
You can check the websiteCanadian Rabbit Hopping Club for event dates. The competition on Chestemere next week is open to anyone to come.
