well im getting a rabbit sometime this month...soooo excited! anyways i need to know what supplise i need ... i know ineed water bottle and water, food bowl and food, hay and hay rack hutchand of course a rabbit (duh)is there anything else i need and, whatkind of foods do i need and when!:?

Check out the cheat sheet like mambo said. It is awesome! Congrats on getting permission to get a rabbit!

Don't waste too muchmoney on bunnytoys, my three rabbits have turned their twitching little noses up oneverything we've bought them!

Instead, give him/her untreated cardboard such as paper towel rollsstuffed with hay. Also, my bunnies adore untreated wicker baskets. Wealso put out boxes for them to hide and play in. Just make sure it'snot the waxy kind of box. :)

i dunno if you have a paper shredder at yourhouse (if not they cost like $15 at like k-mart/ walmart/ office depot)....but just get a big box and shred tons of paper (i shread up allthose darn credit card apps. i get sent in the mail and any paper thatsjust gonna get thrown away anyway) and stuff it in.......freddy willspend forever in there digging and digging .....you can also go to likecarpet stores and ask if they will give you any of those huge cardboardrolls they use....no need to spend tons of money on toys...youll seeonce you have your bun what kind of personality they have a what toyswill suit them best ....for example freddy likes to dig and toss so imade sure any lil toysgets he able to toss around .. kittentoys are super cheapor you can go toa local dollarstore. and he loves his box of shredded paper. youre going to havesomuch fun with your new rabbit :)

You forgot a litterbox! Unless he'llbe on a wire floor, and then he'll still need something to rest hisfeet on. I have kitten-sized litterboxes outside of the cagefor playtime. Both my buns sometimes pee just over the edgesof their boxes in the cage, so they have the high-backlitterboxes you can find at petstores that are made just forrabbits. You can also use rubbermaidcontainers. Just find the right size, and cut a side lower ifyou need to so the rabbit can get in and out easier.

Oh, and the litter. Don't use cedar. Lots of peoplehere use Woody Pet- it's super cheap and super absorbent. Ican't find it so I use a recycled paper litter calledCarefresh. I like it better than wood shavings.

i just started to use that Carefresh stuff andeven though it costs about $15 (shavings cost way less, like $4) itseems alot more sanitary. at first my buns didn't like it, but now idon't think i could go back to the shavings. AND another good thingbout the Carefresh is when my buns jump out of their cages they don'ttrack the shavings all over the house. Also start saving your usestoilet paper rolls, they make good toys for flip and toss.

Good Luck,

Nicole

My Monkeys! had an allergic reaction to theCarefresh. Although it said it was virtually dust free, I found it tobe dusty. Tuckers eyes went all red, and they were both sneezing ALOT.As soon as I switched they were fine. I do have to say, that Carefreshwas good in the sense it absorbed lots, and kept the smell away.

I use a product similar to Woodypet, it is awesome. Dust free, and we've had no reactions. Also very absorbent, and smell free.

:)
