When i first got Kohana back in 2009 she was the most sweetest thing ever. She loved being held and picked up, and was such a cuddler. Not sure how long after she stopped letting me pick her up. So now i rarely do, it sounds mean, but i dont like stressing her out. Because when i do pick her up, i have to use a towel, or she just literally keeps going crazy in her cage. Once I have her on my chest, i can just feel her breathing hard, and her heart beating fast, makes me think shes gonna go into a heart attack (not exaggerating).

She's not all mean. I have her cage next to my bed, and she'll come over to the side of her cage to see me. and ill put my hand in and shell rub her chin on my fingers a few times, then go back to whatever shes doing. she gets along with my other animals, her and my cat are pretty much bestfriends. and she doesnt mind the rats.

Inside her cage I have chews, and this block thing i forget what its called, theyr suppose to use it for their teeth, but she plays soccer with it :p and cardboard to chew. so i know shes not bored.

so based on that, anyone have any clues? reading other peoples stories on here, i thinking maybe i should get her fixed. could that be the problem? being 2 years old now, i dont think thatll help. But i honestly never thought of getting her neutered to be honest. not sure why :S

OMG! She's so cute!!! :bunnyheart

Sounds to me like she trained you well not to pick her up.;)It's true, by nature, most rabbits like to keep all four feet under them, but with practice and time (lots of time), they can learn to tolerate being handled.

I'm a big advocate for handling rabbits. If a rabbit becomes injured or sick, it's difficult to care for them if they can't be handled. Also, in an emergency, such as a house fire or flood, it helps if you can just pick up your rabbit and go.

I don't think it ever hurts to have a rabbit spayed. It calms them down (less hormonal), reduces the risk of cancer, eliminates any chances of unwanted babies, and makes her more adoptable in the unfortunatecircumstance you have to rehome her.

Hope that helps!

hmm okay. ill look into getting her spayed. hopefully she doesnt hate me for doing it lol. once i have her in my arms she eventually calms down. and whe ni let her run around she just stayes under my bed. so i literally have to take my mattress and box spring out to get to her lol. its soo annoying! but ill keep working on her :) thanks
