I recently added Alice, the white bun in my picture, to my little family! :) they seem to really like each other, i was able to put her right in his cage the first day with no problems, and he started grooming her right away!

Now he is neutered, but she is not spayed(she is 8 weeks, he is a year.)
when she is old enough, i'm sure the best bet is to just get her spayed, for her health.

now when i take her, i take them both together, being a bonded pair, but what happens when i have to leave her at the vet? do i leave him too?

If they are still getting along at that point, I would take both. Ask the vet if he can stay with her. Since it is surgery, they may want her to be alone while she wakes up and having another rabbit could cause issues. Other vets might allow him to stay and put them together once she is up and eating. Ask the vet what their policy is. If it is just day surgery, I would not take him, but ask if she is kept overnight.

As she is only 8 weeks, they may not be living together when she is ready to be spayed. He may decide that as she gets older that he wants to mate with her (even though he is neutered). They might still be able to have play time, but not living together at that point. If this is the case, it would be better if she went to the vet alone and was given time to recover at home without him pestering her.

I just got an intact female with the intentions to bond her to my neutered male. She is about 6 months old and he has been neutered for over 4 years. He wants to hump her and flirts with her quite a bit. He has has 2 spayed female bond mates before that he didn't want to hump in the same way. I hope that once she is spayed that he will calm down a bit. It doesn't help that she wants to hump him too and flirts with him. I will have to keep them housed separately until she is spayed. They do get to play together, but not for too long as the humping gets to be a bit much.

thanks for your advice! Im hoping that they'll continue to get a long until that point! because i don't have the space to house them apart. The cage i have now is more than big enough for the both of them, probably even for three, but i don't have the space to give her a big cage elsewhere.

He tries to mount her, but usually only for a moment or two, then leaves and just licks her ears. so im hoping that that will stay that way, and won't get any worse! She is pretty timid and doesn't try to hump him in any way. so i'll keep my fingers crossed that all goes well until i can get her spayed.
