Hey again.

Em...

You see, I was just watching tv last week and i had my 2 rabbits on my lap (boy+girl, not nuetered -yet!!) , and george my buck started to mount the doe jenni. So I tried to seperate them as fast as i could but George wasn't letting go so eventually he let go and just before I lifted him up he let a really loud squeel (not sure on the spelling). I was worried so I checked him to see was he hurt or anything.. and his "thing" was out ALL the way. Why do you think he squeeled?(sorry bad spelling lol)

thanks, nicole , 13 :)

Some bucks squeal after they mate, it doesn't mean they are hurt. Count up 31 days from today, that's when she should give birth, anytime between 31-35 days.

She is 6 months old. Thats the youngest age i read that on the internet. i was in the vet like 2 weeks ago, and she said she was too young?

Yes, the squeal can be a sign he 'did the deed'. It is possible she is pregnant.

How old are your buns?

Do they live together or separately? If they live together then they need to be separated ASAP (like today or tomorrow).

Also make sure they get no more playtime together until after they are both spayed or neutered and rebonded back together.

At 6 months she could easily be pregnant and also that is more than old enough to spay.

Is your vet a good vet for rabbits? If not, it might be worth trying to find a rabbit savvy vet in your area. If you can tell us roughly where you live (check with your parent/guardian first) then maybe we can help you find a good vet in your area :)

Six months is the perfect age for her to be pregnant, I would defo assume that she is. Make sure they get no more playtime together and make sure you have a good vet on hand for emergency's like stuck kits.

Females reach sexual maturity at around 4 months old. So she could indeed be pregnant. Veterinarians like to wait to spay females until they reach 6 months, so she is at a good age to be spayed.

Two animals of opposite gender should never be allowed together, even supervised, unless you are actually wanting (and prepared) for them to have babies or they are spayed/neutered.

There is the option of getting an Emergency Spay, this will terminate the pregnancy.

Em I read all the replies ..thanks..i think these are the answers to the questions yous asked.
-I live in Dublin, Ireland.

-My local vet isn't good with rabbits, no, they usually just get cats and dogs. The other vet is a private vet and is expensive so there is a 'blue cross' thing that one of the neighbours were telling us about who spays and nueters for really cheap and is a pro. vet.

-They live together. The buck is 7mnths. and the doe is 6mnths.

Ok, they need to live apart, from today or tomorrow. She is probably VERY pregnant and they can get pregnant as soon as they have given birth, which means if you don't take him out quick enough you will have two litters of babies which is not healthy for the babies or the mum.

Maybe call the Blue Cross and see if they will spay for you, and also neuter.

Thanks for answering the questions, that's really helpful :)
I'm going to move this to the Rabbitry forum because you'll get the best advice about this there :)

OakRidgeRabbits - I did know what was going on but I got a book which said 4 months but on the internet it said 6 months...

Flashy - I have yes

(Irish Bunny) - Count back from when the rabbits mated nicolevins, I think IrishBunny missed that you said they mated a week ago, Instead of when IrishBunny told you to count back.

If you have any questions pm me.
