hi all! when i let my bunny out of his cage, he follows me around and runs after me. is he doing this for fun? what does this mean?

From my limited experience it means he is bonded with you and he trusts you. I think it is just standard rrabbit behavior. I’m basing this on a bunch of videos of a gorilla that had bonded with a bunny and that bunny followed the gorilla atound everywhere. And also on my Dortmund who (when he isn’t hiding) tries to follow me around.

How old is he? Is he neutered?

Neutered? All of my own bunnies and fostered followed me around like baby ducklings until they were neutered (i.e. hormonal).

And then if he is neutered, he's just having fun or looking for snacks!

We have a 6 year old neutered male that runs all around us, shows off a lot with his toys and follows us all around unless he's eating. I'd say you are "liked".

Our bun did it out of hormones before neutering, now he just comes close to bump or investigate you.

hes around a year and a half old and not neutered. thanx for all the replies!

btw, it isn't just me that he runs after and follows around. he lives in the basement and pretty much anyone who goes down there will get a greeting from him. he will run up to them and follow them.
