Here is a quick run down of what I know at this time.

Upon getting a spay an x-Ray showed bunny had a mast/tumor in her lower abdomen. We did the spay, hoping to remove all the cancer. Unfortunately, the doctor could not remove all of it because it goes deep into her cervix. He was unsure of they type of cancer it is, so he sent it out to the lab to be tested. The doctor explained it is not the typical uterine cancer found in most. The doctor said we may have different options in treating bunny, but won't know for sure until the test results come back.

Options: opening her pelvis and removing all of her reproductive organs/system, chemo and/or radiation.

After talking to the lab, he was informed that sometimes it can spread to the urineary track. Which means, remove the affected area, then re attach. We also talked about how an MRI or a CT Scan could be done to show all of what the affect area is.

Some of the things that worry me about this, she's just a 5lbs bunny! I feel horrible about the possibility of having to put her through a major surgery and even worse about chemo and radiation. She is only 3 years old, so potentially she can have many healthy years ahead of her (assuming the surgery is successful and they can remove all the cancer). Lastly, the cost. I've already spent quite a bit, emergency surgery and medical attention is NOT cheap. Therefore, I don't know how much more money I can dish out. Especially not knowing the outcome.

Is there anyone who has delt with something similar with their bunny and can offer advice? Thank you, in advance.

What confuses me here is how was she spayed but they didnt remove all the reproductive organs? That is a spay. All parts should be gone. You shouldnt have to go back in to remove more they should be long gone.

Hopefully others will have a reply as per chemo.
What did the lab results say about the mass?

From my understanding the cancer goes deep into the cervix. The Vet said he removed as much as he could, but the rest was blocked by her pelvis. That's why he suggested opening her pelvis to remove, what I'm assuming is the rest of the reproductive systems, her vaginal walls. ?????

Again, that's all the information I have now. We are still waiting for the lab results.

I'm so sorry to hear this, I can't advise you and what you should do, because I think situations like this are very personal. If this ever happened to one of my bunnies, I think I would opt for putting them down, I simply couldn't bear to see a bunny go through chemo/radiation therapy, especially when they wouldn't understand what is going on and why it made them feel ill etc. But having said that, it might change at the time if it happened, probably depending on the cancer and if it had spread much etc.
