My first bun was MoMo. Shes a californianI got her from a local humane society because all of the workers told me how loving and sweet she was. So, I took her home. I let her out free range in my bedroom and she was doing okay, but even after about a month, she was still very shy with me. I thought maybe she was upset to be away from her brother who was at the shelter with her and got adopted by someone else. So, i got Zompano, a flemish giant/new zealand mix. Zomp was 3 and a half months when I got him, and MoMo was about 11 months when she met him. I did everything that i read for bonding. Seperate cages, eating together, neutral territory, car trips, you name it. Eventually this worked. But in the beginning, MoMo was vicious and horribly aggressive. Well, now we've inherited Reisza, our 3 month old lionhead. I would like them all to get along, but I'm too weary to let MoMo near Reisza. Zomp does fine with her, a little bit of nipping but mostly just curiosity and lots of sniffing. MoMo sits at her cage and growls (granted this has drastically gone down in the past month or so) and she will bat at Reisza through the bars. Reisza had a scratch on her nose/lip from it and since then I dont let MoMo anywhere close to her or the cage unless I can give my full, undivided attention. I'm afraid of Reisza getting hurt. When MoMo and Zomp fought at least he was big enough to hold his own. MoMo is about 3 times Reisza's size. I have read that size doesn't matter so much in a bond as the rabbits and their personalities. However, I have grown attached to all of my buns and I really would like them to be able to tolerate each other. Please help. :( :nerves1 :anyone:
