A lot of people here use a product calledWoodypet. I don't think I would use Sawdust as it could causerespiratory problems for your bunny. Carpet is not such agood idea either, because it will probably chew it and it is not goodfor its digestive system. There are a lot of yays and naysabout the useage of pine and cedar shaving. If you choose touse shavings of those kinds I would look for Aspen as the others havebeen linked to respiratory problems for SOME bunnies
i am thinking that maybe it will encourage the bunny to use the littertray if there wasn`t sawdust everywhere..we will try aspen ,don`t want her to develop respiratory problems
Sound something like Woody Pet. Woody Pet is made of compressed wood pellets that expand and break down into sawdust.
If that's the case, I can see where the bun might figure it's ok to poop or pee in similar products.
The grass or straw mats are a good idea.
I don't use bedding in my cages (because they are wire bottom). A fewof my buns like sleepie boxes and I simply use hay in them. I use WoodyPet in all of the litter pans (did I mention that I love Woody Pet??).
If I were to use a bedding it would probably be CareFresh....that is ifI could afford it. I would probably end up using straw, though.
thanks for the ideas.. she has a bed which sheuses all the time, i was just thinking about the rest of the cage.. iwill look up grass matts and woody pet
